Matt Maeson2
Matt Maeson – “Downstairs”…(already on my best songs of 2025 list btw)…the singer/songwriter was raised in Virginia, and his unusual upbringing involved performing with his parents' ministry in prisons and at biker rallies.

”Downstairs was one of the first songs I wrote for A Quiet and Harmless Living (out 9/12). It was written out of exhaustion and my tendency to isolate myself when things are hard. I’d just had my son and I was having a very hard time with it. I was trying to balance marriage, fatherhood and a career in an industry that I’d lost hope in…” – Matt Maeson

Matt Maeson plays the Wiltern 10/2.

Local Spotlight
These two played our very first Local Spotlight live and have now become an official add as a local spotlight artist:
El Caplan3
El Caplan – “Our Lady, the Queen of Angels” and “Rock and Roll”… from his debut EP Our Lady, The Queen of Angels (came out in May)…El Caplan is an LA-born singer, songwriter/producer whose sound reflects the richness of his bicultural roots…Raised by a Mexican mother and an American father who was a session musician, El Caplan blends Americana, indie rock, old-school rock and roll, and Latin alternative. He has worked with Dr. Dre, J. Cole, and Anderson .Paak…El Caplan plays the Echo 9/14 as part of the Grand Ole Echo series.

Sharon Silva – “People to Please”…LA-based singer/songwriter…A founding member of the indie-folk band The Wild Reeds, Silva helped shape their harmony-driven sound before launching her solo career. Her debut album, Underachiever is due out in October with contributions from Christian Lee Hutson, Al Menne (Great Grandpa), and Harrison Whitford (Phoebe Bridgers)…Sharon Silva is playing with a full band at Zebulon 9/10 w/ Small Forward and Finnish Postcard…

Until next time, my pretties...
